Cookie Policy
Tracker-Free Commitment: Qenlo does not use third-party advertising cookies, behavioral tracking pixels, or cross-site profiling tools. We use only strictly necessary local client-side storage to remember your explicit accessibility and privacy preferences.
1. What Are Cookies and Local Storage?
A "cookie" is a small text file placed onto your computer or mobile device by a web server when you visit a website. Cookies are typically transmitted back to the origin server with each HTTP request.
"Local Storage" (HTML5 localStorage) is a modern web browser technology that allows web applications to store key-value data locally within your browser. Unlike cookies, items stored in local storage are kept on your device and are never automatically transmitted across the network with every web request, significantly enhancing speed and data privacy.
2. Do We Need Your Consent for Technical Storage?
Under Article 5(3) of the European Union ePrivacy Directive (Directive 2002/58/EC as amended by 2009/136/EC) and national implementing laws across the EU/UK (such as the UK Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations - PECR):
Consent is not required for technical storage or access for the sole purpose of carrying out the transmission of a communication over an electronic communications network, or as strictly necessary in order for the provider of an information society service explicitly requested by the subscriber or user to provide the service.
Because our website uses only storage strictly necessary to remember your chosen privacy preferences and accessibility toggles, prior opt-in consent is not legally mandated under Article 5(3). However, we maintain this transparent Cookie Policy and provide an interactive preference manager to give you complete visibility and control over your browser storage.
3. Inventory of Local Storage Keys
The following table lists all client-side storage items utilized on the Qenlo website:
| Key / Identifier | Type | Category | Purpose & Description | Lifespan |
|---|---|---|---|---|
qenlo_consent_preference |
localStorage | Strictly Necessary | Records whether you have acknowledged the privacy notice so you are not prompted on every visit. | Persistent (until cleared) |
qenlo_reduced_motion |
localStorage | Strictly Necessary / Accessibility | Remembers your preference for pausing background video motion across visits. | Persistent (until cleared) |
4. Third-Party CDNs & Content Caching
We serve video background assets and vector icons via Amazon Web Services CloudFront. These requests are standard static content fetches. CloudFront edge servers may log standard HTTP protocol requests (IP address and user agent) for server delivery and security, but do not set advertising or tracking cookies on your device.
We have also removed external Google Fonts connections from our landing page to prevent unauthorized IP address transfers to third-party servers.
5. Interactive Preference Management
You can reset or clear all Qenlo technical preferences from your browser at any time using the button below:
6. Managing Cookies in Your Browser
Every major web browser permits you to view, manage, and block cookies and local storage. If you prefer to block all local storage or cookies, you can do so through your browser settings:
- Google Chrome: Settings > Privacy and Security > Third-party cookies > See all site data and permissions.
- Mozilla Firefox: Settings > Privacy & Security > Cookies and Site Data > Manage Data.
- Apple Safari: Preferences > Privacy > Manage Website Data.
- Microsoft Edge: Settings > Cookies and site permissions > Manage and delete cookies and site data.
Note: Blocking all technical storage will not break core documentation reading, but may cause the privacy notice banner to re-appear on every page reload.
